Seltuft Cafe is unfortunately closed for summer/autumn 2010. Seltuft Cafe is situated 820 meters above sea level on the Rallarvegen, a popular bicycle and walking track from Finse (highest point on the Bergen railway) to Flam. The cafe is built on the edge of a lake and is ideal place to stop and take a break for cyclists and hikers. The cafe can be reached by taking the Flam railway to Vatnahalsen station and walking (approx. 1 hr) or cycling (bicycles can be hired from the tourist information office in Flam) in along the old navvies road towards Finse. Here you can enjoy light refreshments such as waffles, cakes, rommegrøt (traditional Norwegian Porridge) plus tea, coffee, beer etc in a very cosy atmosphere. The area around Seltuft is quite spectacular, especially Kleva-gjelet a 15 minute walk from Seltuft. From Seltuft Cafe it is a comfortable two hour bicycle ride down the spectacular Flam valley. Seltuft Cafe is open everyday from mid. July until approx. 15.09 and is a perfect destination for a day trip into the mountains. |
